There has been very little activity on the river since opening day. The river level is running very high which means that few anglers have been out. However this didn't stop Chick catching three kelts during the week on the fly despite the high water. It isn't my intention to up date the site much till there is news of springers being seen or caught.

This must be the quietest start to the season for many a long year. Very few anglers on the river and few kelts, seen or caught, and no springers yet The water level will be mostly to blame. At the moment it is two feet above the closing height which is too high for reasonable fishing. When the water level drops expectations should rise.
