About Us
We are an amateur camera club situated in the town of Clydebank, just west of Glasgow. The club is managed by a committee elected from the membership and is one of several clubs affiliated to the Glasgow and District Photographic Union (GDPU). The club meets in Dalmuir Community Education Centre, Duntocher Road, Clydebank at
19.30 hrs. each Wednesday evening between September and May.
Membership is open to anyone who has an interest in photography. We have approximately
20 members ranging from beginners through intermediate to advanced skill levels. As we are small in number we are able to offer new members a warm welcome and a friendly atmosphere. Our members are keen to encourage newer members in particular. We offer
useful hints for all camera techniques. The club also has facilities for digital imaging.
Throughout the season we hold various lectures, practical sessions and competitions. Most internal competitions involve colour slide, monochrome print and colour print leagues. There are usually
two competitions within each of the three leagues for which members may submit four entries. The entry, which receives the highest points for each member, is recorded as the league result for that member. Results are accumulated throughout the season to contribute to final league placings. In addition there are annual and half-annual internal competitions and slide battles against other clubs.
